Can I force a SIM to connect with A1?

For testing purposes, we want only to connect to Austria’s A1 network. As of now, it usually connects to Drei. Can this be forced from the Monogoto cloud, and optionally updated in a later stage?

I would rather not lock the cellular modem to A1 using AT Commands, as this may be challenging to update in the future.

Thanks in advance

Thanks for your questions @Jana

It is possible to block networks so your SIM won’t be able to connect to them. If you block all network except for A1, your SIM will automatically connect to A1. This can be done for an individual Thing, or for a Things Group containing multiple Things.

Edit the roaming policy for a specific Thing:

  1. Visit the Monogoto Console
  2. Click Things from the sidebar menu and select the Thing you are working on
  3. Click Roaming in the top right corner:
  4. Check the Override option

  5. Block all Austria networks except for the network you want to connect to:
  6. Scroll down and click Save & Back to update the override settings in the system database.
  7. The roaming restriction will take affect once the SIM reconnects.

Edit the roaming policy for a Things Group:

The same process can be applied to a Things Group. For details on how to configure the roaming policy for a Things Group, watch the below video:
